Scotland is the most mountainous out of the four countries in the United Kingdom, sharing a border with England to the South. Ayr is 15 miles north and has a variety of good shops and cafés, and just another mile away is Alloway, the National Heritage Centre (NTS) of Robert Burns. You can also take day trips to Ireland Stranraer or to Arran from Ardrossan.

Glen Euchar House, Oban
