Eco-friendly holiday attractions

Being eco-conscious can be exhausting with the endless recycling of our household waste to cycling to work!  No wonder you need a holiday - obviously based in the UK to reduce your carbon footprint.
Here are a few fantastic eco-friendly attractions to appease your guilt from taking time off from the green crusade.

Even if you’ve already visited Cornwall’s Eden Project since it first opened its doors in 2001, it is always worth revisiting.  That’s because this fantastic environment is constantly evolving.  You’ll find beautiful gardens, climate-controlled biomes, a rainforest and plenty of music and art events here.  Cunningly there is also a lot of education wrapped up in fun and interactive exhibits for the whole family to explore.
Opening times: 9am to 6pm every day of the year except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Admission: prices range from £23.50 to £19.50 for adults, £10.50 to £8.90 for children aged 5-16 and free for kids under 5.  Concessions available.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales has been awarded many accolades since its inception back in 2000.  As well as being the most visited garden in Wales, it can also claim ‘Most Romantic Garden’, the number one ‘Wonder of Wales’ and ‘No 1 Garden to Visit in Wales’ as well.  There are an impressive 8000 plant varieties in its 560 acres and standing proud, the world’s largest single spanned glasshouse.  This amazing structure was built by Lord Foster and houses native Mediterranean plants.
Opening times: 10am to 6pm from April 1st to September 30th and 10am to 4.30pm from October 1st to March 31st.
Admission: prices range from £8.50 for adults, £7 for OAPS, £4.50 for children aged 5-16 and free for kids under 5.  A family ticket costs £21.
A visit to the Living Rainforest in Berkshire will put a whole new slant on plant-appreciation.  Here you’ll discover over 700 species of plants and some very intriguing animals.  Highlights include giant Amazon water lilies spanning 8’ 6” in width and other oversized plant specimens that thrive in the rainforest environment.  Also a two-toed sloth called Cinnamon, a West African dwarf crocodile who answers to the name of Courtney and cute-as-you-like Goeldi’s monkeys.
Opening times: 10am to 5pm every day of the year except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Admission: prices range from £9.95 for adults, £7.95 for children aged 2-14 and free for kids under 2.  Family tickets range from £30.75 to £31.75.  Concessions available.
